First, though, to demonstrate just how easy it is to tap into their help, I will tell you a little story about Pallas Athene and how she saved me from feeling overwhelmed at work.
My part-time day job involves many moving parts, and it takes effort to keep all the plates spinning and accomplish tasks within a tight deadline. All this juggling and pressure was causing me a lot of stress, and feeling overwhelmed one day, I glanced up from my desk and spotted my painting of Pallas staring back at me. A light bulb moment! Pallas Athene, the Warrior Queen, is more a strategist than a fighter, known for her wisdom and strategic abilities. Looking at her, I spoke to her from the heart, "Please give me the wisdom and strategies to complete the tasks before me easily."
The response was almost immediate as I got my head down and returned to the work at hand. Without thinking about it, I was suddenly in flow, instinctively organising myself and efficiently completing my assignments. It was only after I had shut down my laptop for the day it struck me just how effective and simple it was to call upon the goddess' energy for practical help. Calling upon Pallas Athene before starting my workday has become a tried and tested routine for me, eliminating stress and generally allowing me to be more effective. Thank you, Pallas!
Luscious love goddesses for calling in your heart’s desire
But who wants to dwell on work when spring approaches and our thoughts (well, mine, at least) drift to love? I need improvement in the romantic love department. After a decade of focusing on my inner journey and shadow work, I'm ready for an intimate relationship with someone special. Thankfully, two powerful goddesses are here to help – the equally luscious Vesta and Venus. Traditionally, Vesta is known as the goddess of the hearth. Still, there is another side to Vesta that can assist us in pursuing a little more spice in our lives!
Vesta presides over ritual and ceremony and will aid in any ritual being effective. She can also help bring about a sacred sexual union through her role as keeper of the inner flame (your sexual spark and kundalini energy).
Venus is, of course, the goddess of desire, love, beauty and harmony. She can help you call in a relationship of love and harmony that fulfils your desires.

A word of warning - be careful what you ask for!
Many have come unstuck calling in a lover, only for matters to end in tears through not being thoughtful about what they really need. You may think your ideal man is tall, dark and handsome, only for the same to appear and turn out to be a raving narcissist!
My advice is to focus on the qualities you would like in your ideal love. Sure, you can ask for physical attributes, but you also need the qualities you need to be happy in a relationship. Qualities may include kindness, romance, emotional intelligence, empathy, sense of humour, open-mindedness, honesty, creativity, caring, generosity, groundedness, etc. The list is endless, and none of the above may appeal to you. That’s okay, think carefully about what does.
And please don’t get fixated on soul mates - their role is often to teach us something, which means that once the lesson is learnt, they either leave or lose the stardust that made them so attractive to us in the first place. In my experience, they are often temporary rather than “the one”. And the lessons, though pertinent, can be excruciating.
Strengthening an existing relationship
If you are already partnered but need help strengthening the bond, the goddess Juno is here to help. Juno is all about union with one another and the regeneration of relationships. One of the moon goddesses, her key symbols are the pomegranate, rainbow and peacock; her astrological glyph is the symbol you see to the left. You can call upon her energies when seeking more intimacy in an existing relationship or to help cut through jealousy or unhelpful attachments.

Calling on the goddesses - how to work with them effectively
Set aside some quiet time to feel what your heart is calling for, light a candle, perhaps listen to beautiful music, and let your active imagination lead the way. Then, journal on the qualities and attributes you would like from a new or existing lover, and set any intentions and appeals to the goddesses around these. Be specific and positive in what you desire (rather than negative by stating what you don’t want).
Devotion and prayer are easy ways to invoke the goddess's energies and request help. These can be super fuelled by adding a dedicated altar or space decorated with relevant items to represent the goddess and her symbols. The addition of a candle and some incense is also helpful. Get creative, use your instinct, personal tastes and, most importantly, intention to create an evocative devotional space. I like to use small prints of my goddess paintings on my altar, swapping them out as a particular need or situation arises. You can also use icons and statues or draw/paint/model your own.
Don’t forget to add written prayers, sigils or intentions to your altar or devotional space. Again, be creative; there are no wrongs here; your pure intention and devotion to the goddess and the task at hand are what matters and will bring the results you desire.
Remember to thank and appreciate the goddess(s) presence and support, and do not take her for granted. I also have a powerful array of goddess images around my living room and greet them aloud every morning, whether or not I actively work with their energies that day. Maintaining an ongoing relationship with them in this way enriches my life through a deepened connection and understanding of how their archetype operates in my life.
Fine-tuning your goddess devotions: working with your birth chart
We all have the asteroid goddesses in our birth chart; placements such as the house, sign, and any aspects will explain how these energies play out for you. They can also point to areas of challenge and remedies. Transits to these placements will correspond to events in your life corresponding to their archetypal energies and can be powerful moments in time to work with them actively. When looking at aspects and transits for the goddesses, use an orb of no more than two degrees (except Venus, which is a traditional planet and a lot faster moving - I would typically use an orb of five degrees for Venus, but you may prefer to work with more or less).
Most astrology software now comes loaded with the major asteroids and dwarf planets. And if you use Astro.com for their free birth chart, you can add a choice of asteroids and dwarf planets via the extended chart function.
